CARE: Cardiac Advanced Resuscitation Education

The Cardiac Advanced Resuscitation Education Group (C.A.R.E) provide evidenced based, multi-model stimulation education for post-cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterisation and critical care patients.

You may be familiar with the Cardiac Advanced Life Support (CALS) course which is taught across the world, for resternotomy following cardiac surgery.

The courses teach multidisciplinary healthcare teams—doctors, nurses, and allied professionals—how to apply structured protocols for managing critical situations, including techniques like emergency chest re-entry (resternotomy), internal defibrillation and internal cardiac massage.

The training combines lectures, simulations, hands-on practice, and scenario work to improve team coordination, role clarity, and clinical outcomes.
